🎼 Chinese Instruments for Children Workshop | Activity Review

Activity objective: Give children and young people from grassroots families the opportunity to develop interests and to dream about the future.

Music knows no age or background, and every child has the right to have a stage of their own. For this reason, we organised the “Chinese Instruments for Children Workshop”. With guidance from professional instructors, a group of children and young people from grassroots families encountered traditional Chinese instruments for the first time and experienced the charm of music.

The course content was rich, giving the children the opportunity to learn different Chinese instruments, including:

• Pipa
• Erhu
• Flute
• Guzheng

Through progressive teaching, the children not only learned about the characteristics of the instruments, but also tried playing them in person and felt the charm of traditional culture. We also witnessed their growth and transformation—from being shy at first to taking the initiative to show what they had learned later. It was deeply moving.

This activity successfully opened the door to music for children from grassroots families, allowing them to explore their interests and build confidence in a happy atmosphere, while planting the seeds of pursuing their dreams.
