Dear supporters, benefactors and everyone who cares about children's growth,
Over the past year, Hong Kong has continued on its path towards normality, but the pressures faced by children and young people have not simply disappeared as everyday life resumed. Academic demands, relationships, family life, emotional ups and downs, and a sense of identity remain important challenges as many children grow. As a charity concerned with children's physical and mental development, Child Cares Foundation understands that children need more than material assistance. They also need to be seen, heard and understood.
Looking back on 2024–2025, the Foundation continued to accompany children, young people and families in Hong Kong through a range of services, activities and projects. Our annual report records the main services, activities and projects delivered during the year, covering parent–child activities, children's development, positive education and community participation. These offered children opportunities to express themselves, build confidence and feel the support of their families and society in different settings.
Children's emotional well-being is especially important to us. Emotional difficulties among children and young people have drawn increasing attention in recent years. We believe support should not begin only when problems arise; it should be built into everyday life. Through positive activities, development workshops, parent–child interaction and community care, we hope children can learn to recognise emotions, express their feelings and build the strength to face difficulties in an environment that is safe, warm and accepting.
Over the past year, our activities have been more than a series of service arrangements. Each has been an opportunity to walk alongside children. Every family gathering, development activity and chance for children to take the stage or join a group reflects a shared belief: children need experiences, affirmation and someone by their side as they grow. When a child is willing to take a step, speak up or try something beyond their comfort zone, that moment is the outcome we treasure most.
We believe a child's smile should never be taken for granted. It needs the shared care of families, schools, communities and all sectors of society. Parents' companionship, volunteers' support, benefactors' donations and partners' commitment are all essential to a child's journey. Your support enables the Foundation to turn care into action and bring resources to children and families in need.
As we enter 2026, Child Cares Foundation will remain true to its founding purpose, deepening our work in emotional support, psychological education, growth and development, and family support for children and young people. Our annual report also sets out future plans and development directions, reflecting our continuing commitment to service continuity, innovation and social impact.
We will continue to place children's needs at the centre of our work, designing more activities that inspire positive thinking, promote emotional well-being, strengthen parent–child relationships and encourage self-exploration. We want every child to know:
→ They are not alone.
→ Their emotions deserve to be seen.
→ Their voices deserve to be heard.
→ They have the ability to face difficulties and move beyond setbacks.
→ Their future is still full of hope.
True charity is more than one-off assistance: it is lasting companionship. Genuine care is more than words of comfort: it means reaching into children's inner worlds, understanding their needs and offering a helping hand when they need it most.
