【Activity Recap】Smile Action Pearl Journey

On 20 March 2021, Child Cares Foundation and the 香港珍珠養殖協會 jointly organised “Smile Action”, an exploration trip full of knowledge and smiles at the 壟南勞 pearl farm. Through the story of pearls, the activity aimed to awaken children’s curiosity about nature and knowledge and nurture their sense of responsibility for stewardship of the Earth.

• 🐚 Guided Pearl Farm Tour: Children stepped into the farm to learn how pearls are born and experience the wonders of nature.
• 🎨 Pearl Handicraft Workshop: Every participant received a pearl craft kit and created a small work of their own, inspiring creativity and confidence.
• 🔍 Village Pearl Hunt Game: Through fun interaction, children searched the village for “mission pearls”, learning teamwork and observation skills.
• Distributed a total of 180 pearl handicraft kits
• Supported 30 children in taking part in the activity and gaining an in-depth understanding of pearls and environmental conservation
• Raised HKD 15,000 in donations, all of which was donated to Child Cares Foundation for education and material support

Every pearl carries a mission, and every donation is transformed into a learning opportunity for children. Through this activity, we not only introduced children to a natural gemstone, but also helped them understand that as long as we are willing to give, everyone can make the world a better place.
