Activity Recap 25 January 2026 🧧 Crystal Flower New Year Calligraphy

On 25 January 2026, Child Cares Foundation organised the “Crystal Flower New Year Calligraphy” parent-child creative activity ahead of Lunar New Year, allowing parent-child families to experience the perfect combination of traditional New Year customs and modern handicrafts. This creation focused on developing hand-eye coordination, guiding parents and children to design patterns independently and stimulating creative expression.

Patience and a Sense of Achievement: A Dual-Reward Educational Experience

“A little slower, yes, press down gently…” came the occasional soft guidance at the activity venue. Making crystal flower New Year calligraphy may look simple, but it tests children’s patience and concentration—this is also the deeper purpose behind the activity design: to temporarily step away from electronic devices and enjoy time in a parent-child activity.

The sense of achievement shining on the children’s faces after completing their work was more precious than any reward.

At the start of the New Year, the parent-child families carefully took their sparkling fai chun home to decorate their doors and convey blessings. Yet brighter than these beautiful creations was the light shining in the children’s eyes as they created: it held concentration, a sense of achievement and a renewed understanding of traditional culture.
