On a sweet and colourful May afternoon, the warm “Little Chef” parent-child baking class made its appearance! The theme was “Making Crystal Cakes”. Professional instructor Chun Chun personally guided a group of parents and children from grassroots families in enjoying the fun of making dim sum together.

Workshop highlights included:

• Learning about crystal-cake ingredients and the making process
• Using moulds to create flower-shaped pastries in different colours and forms
• Children completing their creations together with their parents, increasing parent-child interaction and rapport
• Every participant leaving happily with the dessert they had completed by hand, with sweetness in their hearts

Through this class, the children learned not only a simple food-making process, but also cooperation, concentration and patience. Parents likewise rediscovered the joy of parent-child time through accompanying their children.
